Details. According to the report, the minister held negotiations in Kyiv with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksiy Reznikov, confirming unwavering support in defending Ukraine from russian aggression.
“We discussed New Zealand's recent decision to extend its mission on supporting the infantry training of the Ukrainian troops in the UK until July 2023. Minister Reznikov expressed his gratitude for the extension of the training mission and noted that it changes the situation on the battlefield,” the New Zealand Ministry of Defence said.
Mr. Henare said that New Zealand would not send its troops to Ukraine, but was ready to provide any assistance in the form of training, logistics or intelligence.
He noted that this support payed off: “Ukraine is moving forward, but now is not the time to rest on our laurels.”
