What happened? The European Parliament adopted a resolution on the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide of Ukrainians.

Details. According to the Suspilne media, 507 deputies voted for the decision, and 12 – against. The document strongly condemns the actions of the totalitarian Soviet regime, which led to the death of millions of Ukrainians and significantly undermined the foundations of Ukrainian society.
“Historical justice. The author of the genocide will forever be stigmatised for those events, as well as for today's crimes. The terrorist nation – future generations of russians will be perceived through the prism of these crimes,” Mr. Yermak commented.
As of today, 22 countries in the world have recognised the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
