Details. “Our film A House Made of Splinters is among 15 candidates for the best documentary in the world! Five nominees out of 15 will be announced in January,” the statement reads.
The film tells how, against the backdrop of the war in eastern Ukraine, a small group of strong-willed social workers tirelessly work in an orphanage near the front line and create the necessary safe space for children's lives, while government agencies and courts decide the fate of children and their families.
The director is Simon Lereng Wilmont, the line producer and second director is Asad Safarov. Producers of the film: Monica Hellström (Final Cut for Real, Denmark), Tobias Jansson (STORY, Sweden), Sami Jahnukainen (Donkey Hotel, Finland), Darya Bassel and Vika Khomenko (Moon Man, Ukraine).
