What happened? Vladimir putin ordered the new commander of the russian Armed Forces in Ukraine Valery Gerasimov to completely capture Donetsk Oblast by March.
Source. Andriy Yusov, the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, on air with the FREEDOM TV channel, Liga reports.
Details. "We can talk about the priority front for ruscists – it is Donbas. Another timeframe he [putin] establishes for Gerasimov as the new commander of the war against Ukraine is the capture of Donbas and the formation of a certain safe zone there by March," Mr. Yusov said.
He added that putin did not reckon with reality, and Ukraine had its own plans.
He noted that those were not the first deadlines, and each time they had been postponed. "It will be a year since they 'captured Kyiv in three days'. They will not succeed this time as well," Mr. Yusov added.
According to him, the intelligence also has information about signs that the russian occupation army is preparing an offensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
"This may indicate both direct preparation for offensive actions on the part of the enemy, and certain deceptive actions in order to conduct an information campaign and, let's say, hide their true intentions in other areas of the front," Mr. Yusov said.
Previously. Russia was trying to create a two-million-strong army.
