Ukrainian operators have reached an agreement with European telecoms about accessible roaming

Thanks to this, Ukrainians who are staying in the EU will be able to receive accessible roaming services.

What happened. Seven Ukrainian communication operators have reached an agreement with 20 European telecoms about accessible roaming.

Source. This was reported by the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization(NCEC) – the body responsible for regulating electronic communications.

Details. Agreements were signed by Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine, lifecell, Ukrtelecom, Data Group, Vega Telecom Group and 3Mob. It is noted that thanks to this 4.9 million Ukrainians currently staying in EU countries will be able to receive accessible roaming services.

“Signing of a joint statement is the result of hard work of the NCEC team and the European Commission, in cooperation with BEREC colleagues, but above all thanks to the efforts of Ukrainian and European operators”, commented Alexander Zhevotovsky, head of NCEC..

Background. Previously Mind reported that the EU has allowed Ukrainians not to pay for roaming in Europe. Ursula Fon der Leyen also stated that the EE is introducing Ukraine into a European free roaming zone.
