Director says fire caused heavy damage

Details. Two dozen police cars, nine fire trucks and five ambulances arrived at the scene of the fire at the plant of the American company Edge Autonomy in Marupi, on the outskirts of Riga.

"A high-risk fire has started in the production building, with heavy smoke," the fire service said on Twitter.

Edge Autonomy confirmed to LETA that their production facility was on fire, but declined to comment further. Edge Autonomy deputy director Janis Vilmanis said that the fire caused extensive damage, but its exact extent is still unknown.

Edge Autonomy, a California-based company, produces long-range unmanned aerial vehicles for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
