Due to bad weather (stormy wind, snow, and rain) and damage to the networks of distribution system operators, there are significant power outages in 12 oblasts of Ukraine.
Source. NPC Ukrenergo.
These are Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, and Sumy oblasts.
The NPC assures that the repair crews of the oblast power companies are working to repair the damage and restore power supply.
It is noted that consumption has increased due to the cold snap, but electricity generation is sufficient to cover it.
The growth in consumption is covered mainly by increasing electricity production at nuclear power plants and other types of generation. At the same time, the power system retains a sufficient capacity reserve. Electricity imports are at an insignificant level.
In addition, due to the damage to key high-voltage substations caused by the aggressor over the past six months, the reliability of power supply to consumers in most oblasts of Ukraine has been significantly reduced.
In Zhytomyr Oblast, due to increased consumption and significant damage to the grid caused by repeated russian attacks, the scope of consumption restrictions is increasing. In addition, due to the growth in consumption, there may be power cuts in Kyiv Oblast and Kyiv.
However, in other oblasts, there are no restrictions in Ukrenergo's grids that could lead to the need to restrict consumption.
