Cabinet of Ministers obliges industrial enterprises to report on pollutant emissions

Within five years after the cancellation/termination of martial law, businesses must install automatic monitoring systems at their facilities, the data from which will be transmitted to the Ministry of Environment

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the Procedure for the introduction of automated control systems (ACS) for pollutant emissions.

This is reported by the press service of the CMU.

Within five years after the termination or cancellation of martial law in Ukraine, industrialists are required to install monitoring systems at their facilities. With their help, companies must carry out appropriate measurements, and the data obtained on emissions from their equipment must be transferred to the Ministry of Environment.

It is worth noting that the procedure obliges companies to install ACS only on new equipment. This requirement does not apply to equipment that is already in operation.

"Everyone will see how a particular company affects the state of the air, whether its emission reduction measures are sufficient and effective, whether the business complies with the terms of emission permits, as well as how effective the state policy is in this area and what needs to be adjusted," commented Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
