Denmark will provide Ukraine with CAESAR artillery systems and Leopard 1 tanks by the end of spring

In addition, the country will consider the transfer of newer Leopard 2s to Kyiv, although it has few of them

Denmark plans to supply Ukraine with CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems and Leopard 1 tanks by early summer.

Source. This was stated by acting Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, cited by Interfax-Ukraine.

"We hope that next month we will supply CAESAR artillery systems to Ukraine. They are now at the training grounds in Denmark," said Poulsen at a joint briefing with Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov in Odesa on Monday.

"As for the Leopard 1 tanks. Two months ago, Denmark signed an agreement with Germany. We hope that by the summer we will start delivering tanks. Looking ahead six months, we will be able to supply about 100 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine," said Poulsen.

In addition, as the acting Danish Defense Minister added, "we will be able to discuss the supply of Leopard 2, which Denmark does not have a lot of. We will consider other possible ways of transferring them."

According to Mr. Poulsen, along with the combat vehicles, Ukraine will receive crews that have already been trained abroad. He also added that it is important that Ukrainian specialists are able to service and repair these weapons before they arrive in Ukraine.

"Our artillerymen are already preparing to work on CAESAR. You will also soon hear tanks roaring in Ukraine with a Danish accent," said Oleksiy Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

He also invited foreign specialists who are willing and able to service this equipment, have the appropriate permits and access to documents, to come to work in Ukraine.

"This also applies to pilots. If there are pilots who know how to fly F-16s and are ready to take part (in the war), the foreign legion is ready to open its doors," Reznikov added.

In early April, the Danish Defense Ministry signed an agreement with Norway to jointly transfer 8,000 artillery shells to Ukraine. These munitions will be used by Danish CAESAR artillery systems.
