The European Commission imposed a ban on imports of Ukrainian grain to five EU countries
At the same time, transit of Ukrainian products through these countries is still allowed
The European Commission has banned imports of Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia from May 2 to June 5.

In particular, the document calls the ban "exceptional and temporary preventive measures" caused by overcrowding in warehouses and difficulties with the transportation of these goods in the five countries.
At the same time, the transit of Ukrainian products through these countries is still allowed.
At the same time, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia pledged to lift their unilateral measures against these and any other products coming from Ukraine.
In addition to the ban imposed by the European Commission, other support measures will be taken, including financial support for farmers in these countries.
In addition, measures will be taken to facilitate the transit of Ukrainian exports to other EU member states and third countries.
Background. As a reminder, a batch of Ukrainian grain was inspected in Slovakia and found to contain elevated levels of pesticides.
