The UN and Turkey support the continuation of the initiative

Negotiations regarding the 'grain corridor' have concluded in Turkey.

This was announced by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Community Development.

"Negotiations in Istanbul regarding the functioning of the Grain Initiative have concluded. The UN and Turkey, as signatories of the initiative, understand that the Grain Initiative is critically important for global food security and must operate stably," commented the head of the department.

The Minister added that, at the proposal of the allied parties, further consultations regarding the unblocking of the corridor will continue in an online format.

At the same time, the Ukrainian delegation insists on the restoration of the registration of the incoming fleet and the conducting of inspections without artificial delays and in accordance with the procedures of the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC).

Background. Mind had previously reported that the Turkish Ministry of Defence had organised a meeting of parties to the 'grain agreement'. The country expects the corridor to continue operating as planned.
