This decision brings the defense ministry one step closer to implementing NATO standards and procedures, will facilitate the efficient use of budget funds and reduce the time for supplying goods for the needs of the Armed Forces," said Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.
For his part, Deputy Defense Minister Denys Sharapov said that a single national agency will provide centralized procurement of goods, works and services intended for the implementation of state programs in the field of national security and defense.
Sharapov notes that this agency will carry out procurement within the allocated funds based on the needs identified by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Defense Ministry is currently working to engage partners from the UK, Norway, and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency to help build the mechanisms of the Defense Procurement Agency, as well as to assess the compliance of the state customer service with NATO standards.
