Ukrzaliznytsia has received $25 million in funding from the World Bank for the repair of critical infrastructure and an increase in freight capacity.

Tim Lardner, the Director of the UNOPS office in Ukraine, wrote in his own tweet that he was looking forward to the opportunity to work within the UNOPS to support Ukrzaliznytsia. "A big step forward in supporting Ukraine's recovery process," he noted.
UNOPS is a subsidiary of the UN and is the main instrument of the organisation in the field of procurement and contract management in civil construction and infrastructure development projects.
Background. Recently, Ukrzaliznytsia received permission to restore a section of the railway in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast, which had been closed for passenger trains after a hostile shelling on May 13.
