Part of the Wagner fighters is retreating from Bakhmut.
This was reported by Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, in an interview with the BBC.
The government official emphasised – the retreat of the Wagner PMC fighters from their positions does not mean that they will cease fighting. In reality, the occupiers are regrouping in three other places.
Danilov added that the defenders currently control "only a small part of the city." However, in the secretary's opinion, Bakhmut has "played a significant role in this war."
Background. Mind previously reported that the Wagner servicemen in the suburbs of Bakhmut were replaced by regular russian troops. The Wagner PMC mercenaries are still present in Bakhmut itself.
