Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he saw strong support for supplying Ukraine with fighter jets to repel Russian aggression at a summit of 40 European leaders in Moldova.

Zelensky said this at a press conference following the summit of the European Political Community in Chisinau, but did not provide details, Reuters reports.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that today's summit of European leaders demonstrates the continent's firm determination to bring peace to Europe.

Sandu added that the decision to hold such a high-level meeting in Moldova, just twenty kilometers from the border with Ukraine, is symbolic.

"We reaffirm our unity, strength and determination to act as one family. Together, we solve common problems and strengthen peace on the continent," Sandu tweeted.

Background. It was also reported that the Serbian president said he had a "good conversation" with Zelensky in Moldova. He added that he had not spoken to Putin for more than a year.
