The Government plans to triple freight traffic at the border with Romania.
This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
It is noted that since the start of the full-scale invasion, trade turnover indicators on this segment have almost increased by 100%. To improve results, it is planned to modernise existing checkpoints and create new ones.
Shmyhal reported that he had assigned the task to improve the relevant infrastructure for freight transport both on the Romanian border and at the border with other Western neighbours.
In addition, among the government's priorities now is the development of ports on the Danube and ferry crossings. According to the plan, in conjunction, this will enable Ukraine to increase its exports to the EU, increase transport volumes and improve quality when crossing the border.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that Polish farmers had blocked the movement of trucks from Ukraine that are heading through the Shehyni checkpoint. The passage of cars, buses, and trucks into Ukraine continues without changes.
