The new package totaling about $2.1 billion, which includes critical air defense equipment and ammunition, is provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

In particular, the aid package includes:

"The United States will continue to work with its allies and partners to provide Ukraine with the capabilities to meet its immediate battlefield needs and long-term security assistance requirements," the Defense Ministry emphasized.

UPDATED: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked President Joe Biden, congressmen and the people of the United States for allocating a new defense package for Ukraine worth $2.1 billion.

"Today we have a new package of defense support from the United States worth more than $2 billion. Missiles for Patriot and other air defense systems, strengthening our defense on the ground, strengthening the strength of all our soldiers. Thank you, Mr. President Biden, thank you to both parties of Congress and all Americans who want freedom to win as much as Ukrainians do," Zelenskyy said in an evening video address.
