On Friday, the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) launched a program to help Ukrainians affected by the collapse of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.

Grossi will lead an assistance mission to Ukraine in the coming days and present the plan to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
These measures are reportedly taken in response to Kyiv's recent requests for international assistance to flood-affected areas.
The IAEA chief also intends to visit the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which receives the water needed to cool its reactors and spent fuel pools from a nearby thermal power plant, which in turn takes it from a reservoir adjacent to the dam that was breached.
As reported, the water level in this reservoir dropped sharply after the dam breach, and this is a concern for experts.
