Cabinet of Ministers approves procedure for payment of one-time assistance of UAH 5000 for those living in flooded areas - Shmyhal

People who have left the flooded areas of the Left Bank since June 6 are also eligible for payments

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a procedure for paying one-time financial assistance in the amount of UAH 5,000 to people living in the flooded areas of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

"Today, by a separate order, we are establishing a procedure for the payment of one-time financial assistance in the amount of UAH 5 thousand for people living in the flood zone in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Monday.

The Prime Minister reminded that the Cabinet of Ministers has already allocated UAH 980 million from the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of the Armed Aggression of the russian federation to pay compensation to people whose homes were damaged or destroyed as a result of this tragedy, and another UAH 560 million for one-time payments to victims.

According to the Ministry of Reintegration, residents of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions who suffered from flooding as a result of the russian explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant can receive one-time financial assistance:

* UAH 5,000 from the government and UAH 6.6 thousand from the UN International Organization for Migration.

"Please note that people who have moved from the flooded areas of the temporarily occupied territory of the Left Bank to the territory controlled by Ukraine since June 6 are also eligible to receive the above payments," the statement reads.

Background. Today it was reported that the water level in the Kherson region dropped by almost 5 meters after the dam was blown up. At the same time, the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir dropped below 7 meters.
