Zelensky appoints ambassadors to India, Colombia, and Brazil

Newly appointed ambassadors to these countries are Oleksandr Polishchuk, Yuriy Poliuhovych, and Andriy Melnyk, respectively

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees appointing ambassadors of Ukraine to India, Colombia, and Brazil on June 20. According to the documents, Oleksandr Polishchuk became the ambassador to India, Yuriy Poliuhovych to Colombia, and Andriy Melnyk to Brazil.

This was announced by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

It is known that from December 2014 to October 2022, Melnyk served as an ambassador to Germany, after which he was appointed Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and his position was replaced by Oleksiy Makeyev. Until this moment, Anatoliy Tkach had been the acting Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Brazil.

Poliuhovych is the current ambassador of Ukraine to Peru. It is known that since 2017 he has been leading the public organization Ukrainian Research Foundation.

Polishchuk has been serving as the Deputy Minister of Defence since October 2019. In addition, he has diplomatic service experience in the position of Deputy Military Representative of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO from 2004 to 2007.
