PACE recognized russia's intention to blow up the ZNPP and supported the peace formula presented by Zelensky

The Assembly also approved the creation of a Register of Damage Caused by russian Aggression

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has supported the peace plan of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and adopted a resolution on the political consequences of russia's aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by MP Yevhenia Kravchuk on her Facebook account.

The document was supported by 80 PACE members. The document contains the now official position on a number of issues, such as Ukraine's membership in NATO, the implementation of the Peace Formula and the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.

According to the resolution, PACE:

- calls on the member states of the Council of Europe that are NATO members to support Ukraine's membership in NATO;

- condemns the destruction of the Kakhovka dam on June 6, 2023, which confirms the barbarism of putin's military machine and constitutes a war crime and ecocide;

- supports the Peace Formula of President Volodymyr Zelensky and welcomes the creation of the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the russian federation;

- reaffirms that the russian leadership is recklessly threatening nuclear war and using the occupation of the Zaporizhzhya NPP for blackmail in violation of the Convention on Nuclear Safety and the IAEA safeguards regime, of which russia is a member;

- will continue to make efforts to establish an international compensation mechanism and a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression of russia, as well as to strengthen sanctions pressure and international isolation of the aggressor state;

- notes that international accountability should extend to all private military companies, puppets and allies of the russian federation that commit crimes on the territory of Ukraine, including the Wagner Group and Kadyrov's armed forces;

- calls for the creation of a public register of companies and individuals working in the interests of the russian Federation and involved in the circumvention of sanctions.

Separately, PACE recognizes russia's intention to blow up the ZNPP, threatening the entire continent.

Background. As a reminder, PACE supported a resolution to ban russian and Belarusian athletes from the Olympic Games.
