Three companies to receive $1 million each for developing Shahed destruction technology

New technology will help fight against Iranian drones without depleting powerful air defence resources

Three Ukrainian manufacturers will each receive $1 million to implement technology for combating enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.

This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The second annual Anti-Shahed Drone Hackathon took place on 24–25 June. During the event, 50 teams presented projects to representatives of Ukraine's security and defence forces. Following evaluations, three winners were selected, who presented the most effective and efficient projects.

The new technologies will help combat Iranian kamikaze drones, without exhausting the powerful resources of the air defence forces.

Background. The Ukrainian infrastructure is practically under daily attack from Iranian drones. In May alone, at least 400 Shahed drones were launched at Ukraine. Overall, since September 2022, no fewer than 1,200 strike drones have been launched at Ukraine.
