The US President Joe Biden administration may announce the transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine this week.
This was reported by Oleksiy Goncharenko, a European Solidarity MP from Ukraine, citing local media.
He says the decision has been discussed for at least the last six months. However, it is possible that the supply will be approved in the coming days.
CBS, citing an unnamed US official, notes that a single cluster munition can hit five times the area of conventional shells.
"This is very good news. Cluster munitions will help a lot. You can't even imagine how much," added Goncharenko.
Background. Mind previously reported that the United States is considering providing Ukraine with cluster munitions. If the decision is made, the munitions could be delivered as early as July.
