Ukraine has received cluster munitions from the United States.
This was reported by CNN, citing the Brigade General of the Armed Forces and the Commander of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Group of Troops Oleksandr Tarnavsky.
A representative of the Armed Forces emphasised that the defenders had not yet begun to use cluster munitions, but they were anticipated to change the situation on the battlefield. Moreover, according to him, the russians also understand that the Ukrainian forces will gain an advantage on the frontline due to these munitions.
Tarnavsky added that there were certain restrictions on the use of clusters. For instance, they cannot be used in densely populated areas, even if they are occupied.
"The russians think that we will use them on all areas of the front," he added. "This is very wrong. But they are very worried," the general clarified.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the US had announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth $800 million. Inter alia, it included cluster munitions.
