In total, the United States will provide Kyiv with 31 tanks, which is equivalent to one battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Before Ukrainian troops can start using them, they must undergo a 10-week training course at the Grafenwoehr base in Germany. According to a Pentagon spokesman, the training will end in August.
The New York Times previously reported that the United States had radically revised the schedule for the delivery of Abrams to Ukraine, citing the US military.
