US criticizes russia's proposal for free grain supplies to Africa

The United States supports about half of the budget of the UN World Food Program, while russia's contribution is only 0.02%

The United States has not attached much importance to russian dictator vladimir putin's offer to supply grain to African countries for free.

Washington pointed out that the US contribution to global food security far exceeds russia's.

"The United States supports approximately half of the budget of the UN World Food Program, while russia's contribution is only 0.02%," said Vedant Patel, a representative of the State Department, "so it is quite clear to us who is actively involved in solving serious food security problems."

"Actions certainly speak louder than words in any situation, including when confronting the global food security threat," Patel continued, "Numbers don't lie when it comes to who is truly committed to addressing the food security crisis."

Background. As a reminder, the President of Zimbabwe refused putin's free grain.
