Chernyshev: Independent Supervisory Board of Ukrnafta to be formed by the end of the year

Mr. Koretsky said that the shareholders' meeting decided to hold a competition to select a new Supervisory Board.

The Independent Supervisory Board of PJSC Ukrnafta will be formed by the end of 2023.

Source. This was announced by Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, after the company's shareholders' meeting.

"We can say that this is a historic event: we have approved the terms and procedure for selecting independent members of the company's supervisory board. This procedure will be completed and the independent supervisory board of Ukrnafta will be formed by the end of 2023," he wrote on Facebook.

According to him, the selection will be made in accordance with the OECD principles of corporate governance of state-owned enterprises.

"Another big step has been taken towards the transformation of Naftogaz Group into a modern National Energy Corporation," Chernyshov emphasized.

For his part, Ukrnafta CEO Sergiy Koretsky said that the shareholders' meeting had, among other things, decided to hold a competition to select a new supervisory board.

He explained that this is important because the current Supervisory Board was appointed during a difficult period when it was necessary to respond quickly to critical situations and stabilize/restore the company's operations.

"I thank all current members for their constructive cooperation," Koretsky wrote on Facebook.

As reported, in 2023 Ukrnafta plans to increase oil production by 5.8% (by 0.077 million tons) compared to last year – up to 1.447 million tons, gas production – by 0.3% (by 0.003 million cubic meters), up to 1.04 billion cubic meters.

On November 5, 2022, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Office decided to seize Ukrnafta shares (except for the controlling stake in Naftogaz of Ukraine) as military property for the duration of martial law. Before the seizure, the structures of Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholyubov owned about 42% of Ukrnafta shares.

Background. As a reminder, Kolomoisky's arrest was extended until December 2. The bail amount was left unchanged at UAH 3.9 billion.
