Czech President Petr Pavel does not rule out peace talks in Ukraine, as he believes that Russia has an advantage in manpower and weapons supplies, which allows it to continue the war.

"Negotiations may begin next year, as developments do not indicate that the Ukrainian side will gain a military advantage. Time plays in favor of Russia, which has a strong mobilization base of manpower. Having won time, it will also be able to replenish its material base, which it has long lacked. We see massive shipments from North Korea, we see attempts to circumvent sanctions," the Czech president said at the Diplomacy and Security conference.
According to him, it is obvious that Russia is trying to prolong the conflict. At the same time, Pavel is convinced that the West should continue to support Ukraine.
"The situation is not unambiguously positive. What should be positive for Ukraine is that we are on their side and should support them in achieving their goals. For our part, we have no choice but to continue to provide support," the Czech president was quoted as saying.
Background. As a reminder, Czech President Petr Pavel, elected in January, believes that NATO should consider Ukraine's membership in the Alliance immediately after the war.
