"An important and productive meeting with President of Switzerland Alain Berset. We discussed issues of humanitarian demining, the use of frozen profits from the assets of the aggressor country, and the Peace Formula," Zelensky said.

He stressed that Ukraine appreciates the assistance provided by Switzerland to restore infrastructure facilities.

According to the President's Office, the head of state praised Switzerland's role in the process of humanitarian demining, in particular its readiness to host the second International Donor Conference on Humanitarian Demining in Ukraine in 2024.

Zelenskyy also thanked for the significant humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

"Thank you for your visit. This is a very strong message for Ukrainians around the world that you have decided to visit Ukraine on a special day in our history for all our families – the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor. I also thank you for your participation in today's mourning ceremony. We are proud to have such partners who took part in the ceremony on this special day for our country," he emphasized.

Switzerland had previously joined the EU sanctions against Russia, but the country's authorities did not allow the re-export of its weapons to Ukraine.

In particular, Switzerland does not allow Germany to supply ammunition for Cheetah anti-aircraft systems manufactured by the Swiss to Ukraine. The country's authorities refer to the principle enshrined in law, according to which Switzerland cannot supply weapons to belligerent states directly or through third countries.
