Ukrainian drivers on the border with Poland threatened to go on a hunger strike, Polish carriers made concessions

Ukrainian drivers at the Krakivets-Korczowa checkpoint had earlier started a hunger strike, but after reaching certain agreements with Polish carriers, they suspended the action. The organizers of the blockade and the drivers agreed that 7 cars would pass through the checkpoint per hour, and humanitarian and military cargo would move out of turn.

Earlier, the Ministry of Reconstruction reported that Ukraine and Poland had agreed on measures to reduce truck queues at border crossing points.

In particular, these measures include:

• opening of the Uhryniv-Dolhobychuv checkpoint;
• creation of separate passes for empty vehicles at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk and Krakivets-Korchova checkpoints in the eCheck system;
• launching a pilot project with registration in eCheck immediately before crossing the border at the Nyzhankovychi – Malhowice checkpoint for a period of one month.

Background. Meanwhile, it has become known that Slovak carriers have begun blocking truck traffic through the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint. At the same time, the transportation of humanitarian aid, live animals, fuel, important and refrigerated goods will not be blocked, and the rest will be allowed in limited quantities.
