Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine have already exceeded the forces it had at the beginning of the invasion

The Russians have lost at least 350,000 personnel in killed and wounded, British intelligence estimates

Russia deployed about 130 battalion tactical groups to invade Ukraine in February 2022. This allegedly included about 1,300 tanks, more than 5,000 infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers, and at least 100,000 personnel.

Source. This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defence, citing intelligence data.

"Over the two years of the conflict, Russia's losses have been enormous, and in many cases even exceed those of its original strength. Confirmed Russian losses include more than 2,700 tanks and 5,000 infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers. The Russians have probably lost about 350,000 personnel in killed and wounded," the statement on Twitter reads.

It is noted that mobilisation and recruitment, as well as the production and restoration of existing stocks, means that the losses have been compensated.

"Russian forces in Ukraine are now larger than at the beginning of the war. Now they can continue attacks along the front line and pursue a strategy of depleting Ukrainian forces," the ministry said.

Background. As a reminder, today the UK announced a new defence support package for Ukraine. The UK will allocate $310 million for ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
