What happened. Almost 102,000 hectares of all types of landscapes in Ukraine have been damaged as a result of Russian aggression.

Source. Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources has reported the issue in the press release, referring to the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS) data.

Details. Shelling and bombing the natural ecosystems of Ukraine Russian troops continue, increasing the number of landscape fires.

Active hostilities in the occupied territories make it impossible for service for the protection of forests and other landscapes from fires to pinpoint and extinguish fire outbreaks. For today, Earth's remote sensing (ERS) remains the only way to monitor the fires on the territory of Ukraine.

Ukrainian environmentally protected sites suffer greatly from missile launches and bombs of russists. There we are witnessing a large number of forest and landscape fires. It carries a devastating effect for:
- biodiversity
- nature reserve fund
- emerald network sites.

According to preliminary data from EFFIS satellites, almost 39,000 hectares have already been damaged by fires due to Russian aggression in Ukraine.
