What happened? Switzerland has decided not to provide its ammunition for re-export to Ukraine on Germany's request.

Source. This was reported by the Swiss newspaper SonntagsZeitung with reference to the spokesman of the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs.

Details. The newspaper notes that Germany sent two requests for permission to transfer to Ukraine ammunition that was purchased by the country in Switzerland. The answer to both was negative, with the reference to the fact that Switzerland is a neutral country and the criteria set for such decisions, including restrictions on the supply of weapons to conflict zones, do not allow the request to be approved.

It should be noted that last month the country rejected a similar request from Poland.

Previously. Earlier Switzerland, where one of the main principles of foreign policy is neutrality, decided to approve new EU sanctions against russia and belarus. Amendments to the relevant regulations are being prepared.
