Lithuania has launched crowdfunding to buy Bayraktar drone for Ukraine

The goal is to raise 5 million euros

Apparently, no weapon has ever acquired such a cult status as the Ukrainian Bayraktar drone fleet.

First delivered to Ukraine in 2019, Turkish-made TB2 drones have played a key role in the country's defense since the beginning of the invasion.

Thanks to the efficiency of their strikes on tanks and armored vehicles, drones have become so popular that Ukrainians have begun to name their pets in honour of the drones.

Lithuanian TV presenter raises money to buy another one Bayraktar for defenders of Ukraine, Sky News reports.

Lithuanian journalist Andrius Tapinas intends to raise 5 million euros and be able to buy another one drone. Andrius claims to have raised almost 1.9 million euros in the first 24 hours.

He wrote on his Facebook page: “Let our Bayraktar fly over invincible Ukraine. Let the time come when Lithuania and Ukraine will raise their swords together. We are not going to stand aside and watch how old Europe does not want to help Ukraine. No, Lithuanians are going to buy Bayraktar for Ukraine.

Bayraktar is the dagger in the night, the horror of the russian army. Armed with bombs and rockets, sending fiery and deadly wishes to the invaders.

Never did people of one country decide to buy a heavy war machine in order to defend another country. Until now.

Lithuanians are buying Bayraktar for Ukraine, and we are on the march!

We need 5 million euro. It is a staggering sum, but in less than 24 hours we have already raised more than 1.6 million euro.

Lithuania is united. Everybody chips in government – ministers and nurses, famous singers and students, businessmen and teachers. Even kids are taking out their savings and asking parents to transfer them to Bayraktar instead of buying Fortnite skins.

The Hunt for Bayraktar is green lighted by Lithuanian and Turkish Ministries of Defense and Bayraktar makers.

Crowdfunding is run by independent internet TV “Liberty TV” (Laisves TV). We are completely legit and transparent, we have raised 2.5 million euro for Covid relief, already bought thousands of vests, helmets and two modern recon drones for Ukraine, organized “Freedom Way” to support belarus. We are the sword of public action in Lithuania.”
