39% of Ukrainian citizens have lost their jobs since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine.
These are survey data of the Rating sociological group, published by Ukrainska Pravda.
It mainly refers to the eastern regions of the country, where hostilities have been or are still ongoing, and the reasons for such a sharp growth of unemployment are directly related to the war: enterprises could not continue working under occupation, some of them were destroyed; or the workers had to flee.
Survey also shows that half of the working people receive salaries lower than before the war – they have decreased by 10% or more.
The salaries of 43% of respondents have not changed, of 9% – have increased.
Work in the public sector turned out to be the most stable in these months.
83% of the surveyed employed people are sure of keeping their workplace in the next six months, 11% are not sure.
Among the criteria for finding a new job, the salary ranks first. Due to the conditions of the war, the value of such criteria as prestige or social status has sharply decreased.
