What happened? The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law No. 7644 on changes to the state budget for 2022. MPs supported the increase of additional budget expenditures for defence by UAH 270.1 billion with the help of internal state debts.

Details. 287 MPs voted for the adoption of the law.
The Ministry of Defence will receive UAH 241.1 billion (of which UAH 145.3 billion will be used for paying salaries to the military), Ministry of Internal Affairs will receive UAH 22.8 billion, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine – UAH 2.2 billion, the Security Service of Ukraine – UAH 2.4 billion, the State Special Communication Service – UAH 425 million, the State Guard Department – UAH 197.2 million, Foreign Intelligence Service – UAH 139.3 million.
In addition, it is planned to increase the reserve fund of the Ministry of Finance by UAH 715 million and to allocate UAH 10 million to the Ministry of Economy for the mobilization preparation of the economy sectors.
The amendment in allocation of UAH 12.7 billion to Ukrainian Naftogaz for the purchase of gas using a loan from the Canadian government was not included in the final version of the document.
The total expenditures of the 2022 state budget will increase to 2.633 billion UAH, which is 75% (1.136 trillion UAH) more than planned before the war.
