The AFU confirmed the missile strikes on airfields in Crimea

The task of the AFU for 2023 is “to make these feelings sharper, more natural, and quite tangible for russians and russian residents on the occupied territories”

What happened? The Armed Forces has confirmed that in August they launched missile strikes on russian air bases in occupied Crimea.

Source. General Valeriy Zaluzhny, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Lieutenant General Mykhailo Zabrodsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, for Ukrinform.

Details. The generals reports that the maximum range of fire of the russian Armed Forces' weapons is up to 2,000 km, taking into account the flight range of air-based cruise missiles, and as for the Ukrainian Armed Forces it is actually limited to 100 km by the flight range of missiles and the depth of the location of the starting positions of outdated short-range ballistic missile systems.

Military experts are sure that it is quite possible to oppose the enemy's ability to act in such a way and at such a range.

“A convincing example of the correctness of this approach this year is the successful efforts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to physically transfer hostilities to the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. We are talking about a series of successful missile attacks on the enemy’s air bases in Crimea, first of all, on the Saky airfield,” the generals state.

They add that the task of the Armed Forces for 2023 is “to make these feelings sharper, more natural, and quite tangible for russians and russian residents on the occupied territories, despite the significant distance to the targets.”
