What happened? The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has completed counterintelligence activities that were conducted on the territory of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv, the Korets Holy Trinity Monastery and in the premises of the Sarny-Polesia Diocese of the UOC in Rivne Oblast.

Details. The Security Service of Ukraine in cooperation with the National Police and the National Guard, more than 350 church buildings and 850 people were thoroughly inspected.
More than 50 people underwent in-depth counterintelligence interviews, including with the use of a polygraph. Among them were not only citizens of Ukraine, but also foreigners, in particular citizens of russia, who were staying on the territory of the facilities.
Some of them presented passports and military cards of the USSR, did not have original documents at all, but only copies of them, or had passports of Ukrainian citizens with signs of forgery or damage. They are currently undergoing in-depth inspection.
In addition, on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was a 32-year-old citizen of Ukraine, who the SBU believes may be involved in the illegal activities of the pro-russian news agency Antvan in our country.
“At the same time, he is a trustee of the owner of the russian company ANTVAN GROUP – a citizen of russia Orlov O.V., who owned a number of land plots and catering establishments in Ukraine. Currently, this property is arrested within the framework of criminal proceedings.”
Moreover, in the course of security measures, services found pro-russian literature used in the seminary and parochial schools, including for the propaganda of the “russian world”;
cash totaling over 2 million UAH, more than $100,000 and several thousand russian rubles.
All materials will be handed over to the relevant expert studies.
