Details. “Winter holidays are ahead, and this year, more than ever, they should be filled with warmth. One of the warm gifts for loved ones can be a T-shirt or a longsleeve with a print from the wards of the CF Children of Heroes.

Art therapy and drawing classes help kids to rehabilitate after traumatic events. Ordering such merchandise as a gift for loved ones is an easy way to help children, since the proceeds from the sale, excluding the prime cost, go to the fund for the needs of the children,” the statement reads.

Marta Bilyk, a psychologist of the CF Children of Heroes, explains that it is much more difficult for children than for adults to find words to express their feelings, but art therapy helps in such cases.

“Through drawings, symbols, self-created plots, kids can express what is difficult to say in words. When a child draws, sculpts, or creates something with his own hands, he puts his emotions, pain, and sadness into this work and gets rid of them. The child regains a sense of security, strength to cope with the circumstances,” the psychologist adds.

CF Children of Heroes takes care of more than 1400 children who lost one or both parents as a result of the war. The Foundation expects to take under its care at least 5000 children, whom it will help to cope with the loss of their relatives and provide with the necessities.

Assistance is provided in 6 areas, including psychological, legal, financial, medical, emergency assistance and socialisation. Children will be accompanied up to the age of majority with an emphasis on a decent, active, and educated life.
