Details. “Owners of small and medium Ukrainian businesses have already imported 500 thousand low-power generators. But to get through the winter, we need about 17 thousand more large and industrial generator sets,” he said, expressing hope that “part of these needs will be covered with the help of our partners.”

Earlier this week, at a conference in Paris, Western countries that support Ukraine in confronting russian aggression agreed to allocate about 1 billion euros.

The money should help Ukrainians to survive the winter with much of their energy infrastructure destroyed by russian attacks.

Power generators have become an urgent need for Ukrainians due to russian strikes on the country's energy infrastructure, which began shortly before the onset of cold weather.

The European Union is coordinating the delivery of large batches of generators to Ukraine, but the government is also relying on citizens: on December 13, the Verkhovna Rada supported a bill that allows Starlink generators and modems to be imported into the country duty-free.

Preferential conditions apply not only to businesses but also to individuals, as well as to postal and express shipments. The same laws exempted from taxation the aid for the restoration of energy supply from the European Energy Community. These laws are yet to be signed by the Speaker and the President.
