What happened? The Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law on the suspension of the agreement on cooperation in the field of labour migration with russia and belarus.
Details. This refers to the Agreement on cooperation in the field of labour migration and social protection of migrant workers, the relevant Government resolution and the Protocol on amendments and additions to the Agreement of April 15, 1994. These documents were signed by 12 CIS member states, which in particular undertook to recognise diplomas, certificates of education, information on work experience of other parties to the agreement.
The Ministry of Economy stressed that Ukraine does not withdraw from the relevant Agreement within the CIS, but suspends its validity in relations with two separate countries – russia and belarus. The status of Ukraine in this area remained valid in relation to other CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, etc.). That means that the rights of Ukrainian citizens working in these countries will not be affected.
The draft law will soon be submitted for consideration by the MPs.
