"As Ukraine continues its defense against russia, it has increased its GFP index score for the current year as a result of its response, financial and material backing from the West, and introduction of new key categories which benefit its overall placement on the list," the statement reads.
The United States took the first place in the ranking. At the same time, russia retained second place in the ranking.
"The russian-Ukrainian war has shown key limitations of russia's military potential, despite its quantitative manpower and material superiority over Ukraine," Global Firepower points out.
It is noted that this "shines a light" on the level of readiness, command, training, and supply in the russian army.
