Details. It is noted that during the day there may be emergency outages in other oblasts as well. All oblast power distribution companies have been informed of consumption limits that are valid during the day.
There is a significant power deficit in the power system, as russian missile and drone attacks damaged power plants (generating capacities) and the high-voltage grid.
"The russian attack on January 26 caused significant damage to several high-voltage network facilities. The power system, however, is still recovering from the previous series of hostile missile attacks that damaged power plant units. Consequently, electricity production at operating power plants cannot fully cover consumption," the NPC reports.
After the latest missile attack, network restrictions are in effect in Odesa, and in other oblasts where high-voltage infrastructure was hit by russian missiles or drones on January 26, consumers are supplied with power via backup schemes.
