Details. Ukrainian intelligence officers have recorded that Russia plans to mobilize 300 to 500 thousand people for offensive operations in eastern and southern Ukraine.

"The order to mobilize 500 thousand men in January is in addition to the 300 thousand mobilized in October 2022. And this is another obvious sign that Putin's Kremlin does not intend to end the war," the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine said in a statement.

It is noted that Russian troops will be on the defensive in Kherson and Crimea.

"We have determined that Russian troops may attack in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and possibly in Zaporizhzhia. At the same time, Russian troops will be on the defensive in Kherson and Crimea," noted Skibitsky.

"A new wave of mobilization in Russia will last up to two months, but the implementation of Russia's plans is directly dependent on the equipment of Russian reservists and the level, quality and pace of Western military support for Ukraine" the DIU noted.

Background. The day before, Defense Minister Reznikov said that the government expects a Russian offensive in February. In view of this, the Ukrainian armed forces are accumulating reserves and preparing personnel to deter the enemy.
