This month, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NEURC) plans to consider setting tariffs for centralised water supply and centralised wastewater disposal. For this purpose, open hearings will be held.
The regulator's press service reports this.
It is noted that this refers to the two-stage increase in tariffs – from 1 April and 1 July 2023. "The draft tariffs for centralised water supply and centralised wastewater disposal have been thoroughly checked, and their changes comply with the requirements of the current legislation. In order to curb the financial burden on consumers and at the same time provide them with centralised water supply and centralised sewerage services of proper quality, the regulator minimised costs in the tariff structure," the statement says.
The approaches to tariff setting can be found in the substantiating materials posted on the NEURC's official website in the Materials for the meeting for 27 December 2022 or by following the link.
Background. As previously reported by Mind, the regulator had planned to increase water supply tariffs by 10% from January 2023, but on 30 December, the NEURC had cancelled its decision and sent the drafts for revision.
