Some checkpoints in Kyiv will be removed, while others will be put into "sleep mode".
KCMA reports this.
The checkpoints and engineering structures that are necessary for the safety of the capital will remain, but their components will be improved. It is also planned to reinforce dugouts and put trenches in order.
Some other barriers that are important for the city's defence will remain in "sleep mode". These checkpoints will be removed from the roadway, but will be put back in place if threatened. The unusable elements of the fortifications in "sleep mode" will be replaced or restored.
The remaining barriers in Kyiv that are no longer needed will be dismantled. These roadblocks will be removed from the roadways, concrete blocks, sandbags, and anti-tank "hedgehogs" will be taken away, dugouts will be dismantled and trenches will be covered up.
"The implementation of this systematic solution will make Kyiv more comfortable for residents. We will unload the capital's roads, allowing Kyiv residents to move around the city more freely. But I ask no one to forget that the war in Ukraine is still ongoing," said Serhiy Popko, Head of KCMA.
