Less than half of lifecell base stations in Donetsk Oblast are operational, while the situation in Kherson and Kharkiv oblasts has improved

The communication situation remains particularly difficult in Vovchansk

In Donetsk Oblast, 43% of lifecell base stations are operational.

In the liberated towns and villages of Kherson Oblast, almost 65% of the operator's equipment that was in operation before the full-scale invasion has been restored. More than 90% of lifecell base stations are now operational in Kharkiv Oblast

This was reported by the operator's press service.

In March, lifecell engineers managed to restore 2G and 3G connectivity in the villages of Husarivka, Chepil, and Tsybivka near Balakliya, and a dozen smaller villages around the area also got access to the lifecell network. Thus, lifecell is now available in this area of Kharkiv Oblast, except for two completely destroyed technology sites that are beyond repair and will be rebuilt from scratch.

Half of all the operator's technology sites in Kherson Oblast were damaged or destroyed, and 7% of base stations were completely destroyed. In the liberated towns and villages, almost 65% of the operator's equipment that was in operation before the full-scale invasion has been restored. In March, the lifecell team restored the network in Myroliubivka and launched two more base stations in Kherson.

In Donetsk Oblast, lifecell engineers are also actively working to restore mobile coverage in the de-occupied areas. The village of Novoselivka in the Lyman community is back in contact, and since March, the village of Yarova in the same community has been provided with 2G/4G coverage. Besides, in March, the operator's team managed to restore three base stations in Toretsk, Bakhmut Rayon.

The communication situation remains particularly difficult in Vovchansk. In February, the construction of a new radio relay line was completed there. It will allow the operator to return 33 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast with 45,000 residents to the lifecell network. However, the optical hub in this area has been damaged several times since the de-occupation.

lifecell has managed to restore connection in all the settlements except for Vovchansk, which is under regular enemy fire. The mobile network team continues trying to restore the network there and, as a temporary solution, has re-launched one site in the village of Vilcha, a suburb of Vovchansk, and launched 2G, 3G and 4G communications via a temporarily built radio relay line (one base station is powered by Starlink) in Vovchansk. Thus, 50% of lifecell's base stations operate in Vovchansk.
