Last year, the turnover of companies in the wholesale and retail trade, electricity and gas supply sectors grew the most. Naftogaz, ATB, and D.Trading topped the list of Ukrainian companies in terms of turnover.
Data on the financial statements of companies for 2022 were published by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the State Statistics Service. Opendatabot analysed this data.
Almost half of the companies on the list of Ukrainian business leaders operate in the trade sector: 35% in wholesale and 10% in retail. The second place is taken by companies involved in the supply of electricity and gas – 17%.
The top Ukrainian companies in terms of turnover are headed by Naftogaz. ATB and D.Trading, which sells electricity, gas, coal, etc., also entered the top three. The list also includes Silpo, WOG, and OKKO.
The vast majority of the companies on the list managed to increase their revenue in 2022 compared to 2021. Strong growth was recorded by businesses operating in the following sectors:
Over the year, Energoatom, Naftogaz Trading, OKKO, Ukrspecexport, and several regional offices of DTEK (Pavlohradvuhillia and Zakhidenergo) showed the biggest growth of their performance indexes.
The year was less successful for businesses operating in the land and pipeline transport as well as telecommunications sectors. In addition, some of the steelmaking companies destroyed in the hostilities suffered significant losses.
