SBU eliminates bot farm that was to spread russian propaganda in Ukraine

The organiser created about 3,000 bots, most of which he planned to sell to russian special services

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has eliminated a bot farm that was supposed to spread russian propaganda in Ukraine.

This was reported by the SBU press service.

The owner of the bot farm in Kirovohrad Oblast created about 3,000 bots that he planned to sell on the darknet. The main customers were representatives of russian special services who planned to spread kremlin propaganda in Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers conducted searches at the bot farm and seized computers, specialised equipment and 3,000 SIM cards used in the illegal activity. The owner of the farm was detained and served a notice of suspicion of recognising russian aggression as lawful.

Background. russia had been collecting data on all Ukrainians before the invasion. The russians had been doing this since at least 2014-2015.
