President Volodymyr Zelensky said that, according to the information he had, there was no threat of an offensive from Belarus.
He said this at a joint press conference with Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas in Zhytomyr, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"I believe that today, precisely today, according to all the data I have, there is no threat in this direction," Zelensky said, answering journalists' questions about the region's defence capability and the situation on the border with Belarus.
The President added that during the meetings of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, defence issues in the regions are periodically considered.
"This is extremely important for us. We don't communicate publicly on this issue, since I believe that we should not prepare our enemy, wherever and on the territory of which state he is," Zelensky said.
Background. As a reminder, in late March, Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko said he had ordered the military to immediately restore the sites where nuclear warheads had been located.
